Community Building Partnership of Stark County, Inc. (CBP) is proud to be a sponsor of the neighborhood renewal efforts taking place Canton neighborhoods. To show our support and commitment, CBP is offering up to $2,000 exterior grants rewarding home owners who make an initial interior/exterior home improvement(s) within specific neighborhood boundaries of Canton’s NW and NE neighborhoods during 2013 as outlined below.

Why ?
1. CBP is rewarding and encouraging residential property investments by homeowners by providing funding for additional home exterior improvements.
2. CBP is directing this funding towards outside, exterior improvements that demonstrates to the community that residents are part of the overall effort to improving neighborhoods.

How to Obtain Your Grant
1.EGR’s are only available to owner-occupied homes making an interior/exterior improvement on their home exceeding $3,000 within calendar year 2013.
2.IMPORTANT: You are not eligible for an EGR until after you have completed your qualifying home improvement project(s). Upon completion of an interior/exterior improvement project(s), contact CBP at 330-458-0962 or egr@communitybuildingpartnership.org to register your home improvements and start the EGR application process.
3.Potential EGR recipients must provide documentation of investment in property improvements; acceptable documentation includes construction contract and disbursements; rehab loan documents; certain material invoices; other grant or gift letters. NOTE: CBP cannot use self-help labor as a factor in calculating investment.
4.EGR’s can only be utilized to make specific exterior improvements as approved by CBP. Specific eligible improvements include: landscaping, porch repair or replacement; new doors/windows; painting; gutters or downspouts; roofs; other items as approved by CBP.
5.Recipients must agree to allow CBP to utilize any information for future program promotion, as well as the placing of signage on home owner’s property to promote neighborhood improvement.
6.EGR’s are provided on a “first eligible, first completed” basis. CBP’s registration list will be the official order of grant awards.
7.Grants will be available until 12/31/13 or until funding is depleted, at the discretion of CBP. Specific dates of completion have been set as follows:
- December 2: Qualifying project(s) must be completed
- December 20: Completion of funded additional exterior project unless authorized by CBP for 2014 completion
NOTE: CBP has access to a Home Inspector/Rehab Specialist in partnership with Project REBUILD to offer free educational project consultations. The Rehab Specialist can assist you in many phases of the rehab process and is recommended to discuss any home improvement project(s) prior to beginning. Please contact CBP for more information.
